help with my little sisters homework. Hazard signs found on...vinegar, milk of magnesia, toothpaste....?

.....pickled onions, orange juice, washing powder, soap, and lemonade. If you could tell me what type of hazard symbol each of these carries, i can then find a picture of that symbol. many thanks. i've already checked on things round the house. They haven't got any symbols on! yes they've specifically asked for these!!...strange i know!!

  1. Go and look around your house and find what you can first! * In that case I would go with what The Dazzler said below! What is the exact question for the homework?? I am on a mission to find out now!
  2. Onions: May make you FART Vinegar: You may get in a pickle milk Of Mag: May be minty Lemonade: Don't gulp as for the pic, use ur imagineation
  3. is it possible that the same answer applies to all? "avoid contact with eyes" not raided my kitchen cupboards yet to find out but think this could be the most logical answer? . . . . . ok so you win....... i've just been and checked mine also ha ha only signs i can see if please recycle? (your right no other signs?) are they asking about natural hazards rather than the assumed human hazard? dunno matey just as confused as you but think she may get brownie points for thinking outside the box and going for the natural hazards / environmental issue rather than the "may contain nuts" issue?? good luck either way matey
  4. no hazard signs on any of my toothpaste, washing powder or pickled onions! did they specifically ask for those products? you're more likely to find them on chemical products like bleach or ammonia based cleaners etc. sorry i couldn't help seems very silly, why would anyone buy washing powder, toothpaste or feckin lemonade that declared itself to be hazardous?! write her a note saying there were no symbols, i bet the whole class does the same! it must be from a book from the 50's before there was non-bio washing powder!!!
  5. I cant believe you made me get up from the sofa to go & check the toothpaste & soap - I checked and there are NO hazard symbols!!!! - The only symbol on most products are the circular logo with two entwined arrows symbolising re-cycable? The majority of the products you mentioned are acidic so something along those lines??
  6. On food items I wouldn't expect any. But the food stuffs are all mildly acidic, the soap products slightly alkali. Both will sting like ****** if you get them in your eyes, my soap powder has any eye with a cross through it and a running tap above an eye next to it for treatment . Has literacy and common sense got this low that we need cartoon images on labels?
  7. Use within twelve months of opening Ive just checked some of the things for you Edit- the Symbol is a tube with a lid with the number 12 in it
  8. washing powder orange square with black cross, yellow triangle with ! in the middle . yellow triangle with scull and cross bones.toxic. www.safetysignshop.com.
  9. Hiya. My first instinct was to jump up and go looking over the house looking for symbols! But sorry - I thought it so funny as I imagined all these people on Yahoo leaving their pc to go looking! Why don't you just enter 'hazard signs' on Yahoo and see what comes up?
  10. They would all stain a varnished surface. Is ther a symbol for this?
