Question about fire alarm fault?

At my school the fire alarm seems faulty. The control box, which is outside my classroom, keeps flashing lights and making a high pitched noise. When I had a look, the light that was flashing was "ALARM". The school caretaker said it "hasn't got anything to do with safety" but I highly doubt that. Also, a lot of the exit signs are faulty or misleading. Is this safe, and can the school be reported? What should I do? Thanks!

1. Have an adult contact an Inspector with your local Fire Department and report your suspicions. You have every right to be concerned about this.
