- hello! my name is valentina! I am italian! I'm from italy! =D
- They tell you what colour exstingiusher is used for what sort of fire ie electrical you dont use water niether for oil fires either. CO2 for electrical fires and oil along with powder. Hope this helps.
- Safety Signs! Seriously, they tell you what type of fires can be tackled with the equipment as you would not want to put out a electrical fire with a water extinguisher. Arrrrggh!!! It also has something to do with folks being thick and dense and the same morons getting legal on the company if the moron idiots cannot follow instructions like a normal person and getting injuries due to there idiot moronic dense approach.
- The safety signs are a legal requirement (Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005). They tell you they type of extinguisher in place and the type of fire they are suitable for extinguishing. The reasoning behind this is to ensure that the correct extinguisher is in fact in place - which will have been determined by a Fire Risk Assessment. Sometimes they can get moved around so you want to make sure that, for example, the CO2 extinguisher in the office has not been replaced accidentally by a water one. The signs also let staff know where an extinguisher is, in the event that one is required. Signage is certainly not there for "morons". People panic in a fire situation so you want to ensure the correct information is available for them to decide - in a split second - which extinguisher to use, as the consequences of using the incorrect one can be fatal.
