What should the Lions do?
-First sign new coaches. -Sign Steven Spagnuolo as your head coach(as of now his the D coordinator for the giants). -also sign Jason Garrett as your O. Coordinator(now his O coordinator for the Cowboys) -I can't think of a D coordinator In the Draft -with the first pick get Andre Smith. -than with the cowboys pick get an OL and a DL -also with the first pick in the second round pick a Safety -with the 3 third round picks pick a LB,DL and OL -in the 4 or 5 round get Graham Harrell -than later in the 6 or 7 round pick a big and strong WR to compliment Calvin Johnson in Free Agency try to sign these players Matt Cassel--QB --- for 2 years so Harrell can develop Justin Miller-- CB Michael Boley--LB Tank Johnson--DT Owen Daniels--TE Derrick Ward--RB--- to help Kevin Smith -also let all your free agents leave don't resign any of them. what do you think? don't say they need to move to another city or anything else.

- The first thing they need to do is stop poppa Ford from making any more decisions. Nothing else will matter until that happens.
- The Lions will pick Chris Ogenemaya in the 1st round.
- first off do you really think the falcons are going to let go of michael boley and do you really think the teaxans are going to let go of daniels you have to figure in other teams and resigns and all that and both those will be ristriceted free agents anyways so they would have to give those teams sothine in return
- MOVE
- idk, it sounds like a good idea, but Matt Cassel might be staying in New England because Tom Brady is far behind schedule on his knee and he might require more surgeries that could cost him to miss the 2009 season so I doubt Matt Cassel is going anywhere. And with Derrick Ward, where ever he chooses to play, he will want to be a starter, and seeing as how Kevin Smith is the starter in Detroit, he will not want to play there.
- There are so many things they need to do, there is no way anyone can list them all right now. Bottom line is, the owner better start being willing to shell out some money to get some talented players, as well as get someone that can evaluate talent so they don't keep picking WRs in the draft. You never see the Lions make any kind of headlines signing good players to big contracts. Until you get a few, they will struggle badly.
- I feel bad for Lions fans. The only thing they have going for them is Kevin Smith and Ernie Sims. They need to draft a LT and QB in this years draft. They also need to hire some credible coaches who have a lot of experience and knowledge
- Yes, Get O-linemen in those early rounds to help out Smith. They should go get the guys to build a basis with the hope of being good in 5 years.. not next year. You have the right idea for free agents. Maybe Devery Henderson as a cheap deep threat as the Saints will likely let him leave. Housmoundezeh will be a free agent too. I Bradford or Stafford. That free agent list is pretty good, but remember, Detroit will get, at best, 2 of those since no one really wants to go there. You guys need a good draft. Get 6 qualitiy guys and the Lions will be good to go.
- The hard thing about this is the fact that they've tried so many different things the past few years and nothing has really worked. They accomplished a lot by firing Millen, but that doesn't automatically put them in the playoff hunt. If I were them, I'd make a big push for a big name guy. Pull in Cowher, Shannahan, or Billick. I think the key with the pick-up is getting somebody who is professional, yet humble. Knowing you need help and that it's a group effort is a big part of this. Now I wouldn't necessarily go for a big name QB. I might be one of few that think they have a QB of the future on their roster. Orvlowsky isn't horrible. You will just never find out how good somebody is until they have a decent supporting cast. I'd give him the starting job right off the bat, but bring in a capable backup that won't steal his thunder. Maybe bring in a guy like Alex Smith, Marc Bulger, or Patrick Ramsey. I'd leave the HB position alone. Maybe bring in a bruiser like Ron Dayne or Duckett for goalline. I know they're washed up but you can give them the carries in the red zone. Free Agency doesn't look great this year, but there could be some guys worth getting. A second receiver and big tight end are both huge needs in my opinion, but the defense has more holes to fill. I'd look into guys like Bobby Engram, Desmond Clark, Roscoe Parish, or Antonio Bryant for the offensive side of the ball. On defense I'd look at Angelo Crowell, Chris Gamble, Jermaine Phillips, and whoever else would be willing to come to Detroit. .... And for the draft? TRADE DOWN! I can't stress this enough. Stafford/Bradford will be in high demand, and multiple picks, possibly players, could be coughed up for the pick. Later in round one you could still get quality playmakers on both sides of the ball. A perfect trade would be just a few spots back to Kansas City and you could get an additional 2nd rounder for it. With the 3rd overall pick, the Detroit Lions select Andre Smith, OT... or whatever offensive lineman falls to them. with the 20th overall pick, the Detroit Lions select Chase Coffman, TE... In the second round they can get a defensive back and another defensive player. I really like William Moore (who is falling off the boards) and another good offensive lineman can't completely be ruled out. This won't get the lions winning tomorrow, but it will definitely start them going in the right direction. You dig it?
