Free Safety Signs

Please revise this short pargarph its urgent?

Schools should set a day when students are free to go outside of the campus during lunch. At my school, Pacific Academy, students are strictly under the supervision of teachers at lunch. However, on Wednesdays students may buy a meal at a coffee shop or a family restaurant, which are off school grounds. They must sign out in the office to notify the receptionist of where they will be. Students who have never gotten in trouble must report that they are leaving the campus during a study block because of safety issues. Also, those who don’t cooperate with the school administration must stay at school because they may run into trouble. Students who don’t inform the office that they are leaving get a detention or a suspension because they have flouted the school rules. Schools must set for students who follow school regulations well off a day for to encourage them.

  1. go OFF campus is the usual way to phrase that. and last sentence needs reworking. Must implies that there is no choice, and schools have a lot of choice in that area. How about: Schools would do well to set up a day of off campus for students who follow school regulations. However, although you have done a good job of explaining how the off campus program works, you have little in the paragraph about why school should do this. Perhaps you could mention that gradually increasing freedom develops and rewards responsibility. Our high school has grown so much that it is difficult to get everyone served in our size cafeteria in a reasonable time. Seniors can request off campus passes five days a week. Juniors can go 3 times a week. Sophomores can go 1 time a week. Freshman can earn 2x a semester. The reasons for the school to do this have more to do with time constraints and the size of the cafeteria than with responsibility. However, a new high school in a neighboring town has gone back to NO off campus passes unless they are with a parent. Claims it cuts down on truancies, traffic accidents, and other problems. It is basically a closed campus.
