Why can't I decide not to pay into safety net programs and not collect them?
I will gladly sign a blacklist that prohibits me from collecting safety net programs and social-security. As long as I don't have to pay into it. Thus nothing happens. Don't get stupid and say "Well why can't I then not pay for military, police, fire fighters, etc..." that's because that's the common defense. It's not a safety net. The question regards safety net programs. Not Common Defense.

- you need to be proteted from people that want to......you
- Look up the definition of "society".
- I have had this idea, myself. I will gladly sign an "opt out" waiver, right now, that states that I will never receive one penny of Social Security, Medicare, or unemployment; in exchange, I want no deductions other than the benefits I choose to be taken out of my paychecks.
- All you have to do is become a Christian Scientist in good standing with the church. You can then file for an exemption from SSN. How long you continue the charade is up to you. Here's a link: http://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/handbook/handbook.11/handbook-1130.html
- You can relinquish your citizenship
- You can't opt out, because unless everyone participates, the program will fail, as if most of them are not already.
- Good idea now while you are healthy and young and naive. What happens when you are old and hungry and sick and broke? Do you want everyone to let you starve to death? Or are you so smart that you can assure the rest of us this won't happen?
- Well, if I don't want to rely on the police, fire fighters, or military, why do I have to pay for this "common defense"? I don't want protection! I can protect myself! I don't need police to protect me! I shouldn't have to pay taxes for that. Also, why should I pay for roads and transportation infrastructure? If I don't drive, why should I pay for other people to drive on roads? It's my money!!!! See your argument fails, idiot. You have to learn to be practical and not an ideological extremist.
